George Schneer, Venture Partner
George is an executive management consultant with over 35 years of experience in technology business. He works with Horizon portfolio companies to solve management problems in both start-up and mature technology companies.
Most recently he was Interim CEO at Discera, Inc., a MEMS oscillator start-up which is a portfolio company of Horizon Ventures. He was President/CEO of Ethertronics (now Chairman of the Board), a start-up company developing state of the art RF antennas for mobile wireless applications. He has also worked with Market Tools Inc., for which he served on the Board and secured seed venture capital funding as a member of the Band of Angels.
George held several executive positions while at Intel Corp. As VP and GM of the Memory Components Division, he was responsible for the Nonvolatile memories, Bubble memories, Flash, EPLD, DRAM, and SRAM products. He also served as VP and Director of Quality and Reliability where he led the Continuous Quality Improvement effort for all Intel's products. George was also a founding Director of Sematech, the industry consortium, and represented Intel on the Sematech Board of Directors.
Previously he spent several years in research and development at Bell Telephone Laboratories. George has also been an arbitrator for the American Arbitration Association in the area of technology business
He received his BSEE from Bucknell University, an MSEE from the University of Southern California and an MS in Physics from Lehigh University.
